Last September 19, 2026, the Rotary Club of Cubao brought the joy of reading and learning to the children of our adopted barangay, Quirino 2A. This is in support of Rotary International’s 7-Areasof Focus one of which is Basic Education and Literacy.
One of the highlights of the activity was the turnover of a mini library for the barangay. The mini library aims to provide children with greater access to books and encourage them to develop a lasting love for reading and learning.
A short and meaningful program was held, featuring a storytelling session led by President Marijo who shared with the children the importance of reading books and how reading can open their minds to new ideas, knowledge, and possibilities.
The children also enjoyed fun games, with various prizes given to those who participated. The activity concluded with light snacks shared with everyone, creating a warm and joyful afternoon for the children and Rotarians alike.
Through this simple yet meaningful initiative, our club hopes to inspire more children to read, learn, and dream—one book at a time. It was a wonderful reminder that small acts of service can make a lasting impact in the lives of our community’s children.
